Algebra

Our Algebra course helps 7th and 8th graders ace their Honors Algebra classes by mastering key algebraic concepts and algebraic analysis.

This course is perfect for students who want to place themselves on the advanced track for high school. It is especially helpful for 8th graders who have been accepted to Bergen County Academies, Bergen Technical High School, Academies @ Englewood, or competitive private schools.

This course also gives students an early head start on mastering SAT math skills.

In the spring, students meet once a week for 20 weeks.

*Placement in Spring Algebra or Spring Algebra II is determined by initial test evaluation.

Algebra II

Our Algebra II course helps students ace their Honors Math classes in the upcoming year by learning functions as a generalized approach to graphing and solving equations.

This course is perfect for 8th graders/incoming freshmen who have placed in “Analysis” or “Advanced Analysis” at Bergen County Academies; entering Bergen Tech or Academies @ Englewood; or public or private school students entering Honors Algebra II. This course also gives students an early head start on mastering SAT math skills.

In the spring, students meet once a week for 20 weeks. In the summer, students twice a week for 7 weeks.

*Placement in Spring Algebra or Spring Algebra II is determined by initial test evaluation.

Geometry

Our Geometry course covers key concepts in the subject, such as theorems, postulates, and deductive conclusions. It fully prepares students who need to master writing proofs and employ higher-level thinking skills, especially compared to middle school math.

This course is perfect for students attending AMST, AAST, AEDT, or ATCS at Bergen County Academies; freshmen entering Bergen Tech or Academies @ Englewood; or private/public school students taking rigorous math courses.

Students meet twice a week for 7 weeks.

Pre-Calculus

Our Pre-Calculus course is designed to help students in AMST, AAST, or AEDT at Bergen County Academies, or private or public students entering honors math courses.

This course introduces students to discrete math and helps them prepare for Analysis II at Bergen County Academies and Analysis at other high schools.

Students meet twice a week for 7 weeks.

AP Calculus

For 10th graders, our AP Calculus course covers common areas between AB and BC Calculus curricula, consolidating students’ foundations for the following year’s AP exams. Students meet twice a week for 7 weeks.

Biology

Our Biology gives students a strong foundation in the subject by covering the essential concepts of molecular biology. It increases their confidence by helping them to navigate the more difficult terrain compared to middle school science, especially the increased amount of information and new, required lab experience.

This course is perfect for AMST and ATCS students at Bergen County Academies; students entering their freshman year at Academies @ Englewood; and honors students from public and private schools.

Students meet twice a week for 7 weeks.

Chemistry

Our Chemistry course covers essential concepts that provide the foundation for optimal performance on the SAT Subject Chemistry test.

The course is perfect for students entering AMST, AAST, or AEDT at Bergen County Academies; or honors science courses at public or private schools.

Chemistry II

Our Chemistry II course prepares 10th graders for their second year of Chemistry by covering in-depth concepts necessary for advanced and AP chemistry classes.

This course is perfect for sophomores in AMST, AAST, or AEDT at Bergen County Academies; or honors science students at public or private schools.

Physics

Our Physics course focuses on introducing students to key physics concepts, including kinematics, dynamics, electricity, and magnetism.

The course is perfect for students who are entering AAST or AEDT at Bergen County Academies; incoming freshman at Bergen Tech; and honors science students at public or private schools.

Students meet twice a week for 7 weeks.

Advanced English

Our Advanced English course helps 8th graders ace their Honors or Advanced Placement high school English classes by mastering critical reading and writing skills.

This course is perfect for students who have completed High School Test Prep during the fall, and want to place themselves on an advanced track for high school.

This course teaches students key advanced writing, reading, and grammar skills that are often not covered in the junior high classroom, but are required to be successful in Honors English and in upcoming college admission tests such as the SAT.

In the spring, students meet once a week for 20 weeks.

Schedule

Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Chemistry II, and Physics courses takes places during Summer in July and August. Official start and end dates will be announced in Spring. To maximize results, we strongly recommend that students begin on the start date.
