Mastering the Essay
Writing Lab is designed for students struggling to articulate their thoughts in essay-writing. At school, students write only a few essays a year. Our program steps in, teaching students how to think as well as how to write, in a dynamic, hands-on way.
At Writing Lab, students learn to intelligently brainstorm and write engaging 5-paragraph essays in 45 minutes. From ideas organization to revision, students receive expert guidance and climb to higher or perfect scores.
Our Writing Lab students develop motivation, confidence, and valuable essay-writing skills, earn a key edge on future high school and college admissions exams.
At Writing Lab, we give students the right tools to become top writers. Our expert teachers guide students with key strategies, proven materials, and clear objectives to lead them to success.
Our teachers provide reference materials for students to deepen understanding on key aspects of writing, from thesis statements to transition usage.
All students are taught by dedicated teachers with professional degrees and extensive training in MEK Lab methods.
We teach students key proofreading and revision strategies that help students to self-edit and reduce errors and/or repetition in their essays.
Teachers show students how to best brainstorm various essays effectively, logically and powerfully.
From persuasive to narrative styles, students master responses to a range of essay prompts, helping them perfect specific skills for strong writing.
Our dedicated teachers provide crucial insights, helping students recognize areas of strengths, as well as areas of weaknesses for improvement.

Writing Lab meets twice a week. Each session lasts 60 minutes total, efficiently and expertly guiding students through each stage of hands-on learning.
