Advanced Placement (AP)

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The MEK AP Course Prep programs are designed for test prep, as well as helping students earn top grades in their AP classes. The program focuses on mastering essential AP course content and preparing for the AP exams. Courses are offered in two formats: private tutoring for content support and GPA improvement, and group test prep classes targeting a score of 5 on the AP exam. All MEK AP courses align with the College Board’s AP Central standards to ensure consistency with school curricula.

*Private tutoring available for all AP subjects to support classroom learning and GPA.

Group test prep courses offered in Spring for select subjects to prepare for the AP exam.

Curriculum aligned with AP Central syllabus.

Includes 10 to 15 sets of practice exams and in-class drills for open-ended questions.

Summer overview sessions available for AP Calculus, AP Chemistry and AP Biology.

PROGRAM OFFERINGS

AP PRE-CALCULUS

Covers polynomial and exponential functions, logarithms, trigonometry, and function manipulation. Focuses on algebraic reasoning, mathematical communication, and real-world applications.

Private tutoring only

Format: Hybrid (virtual or in-person)

AP U.S. History

Covers all 9 historical periods from 1491 to the present. Emphasizes analysis of historical texts and essay writing.

Private tutoring or Spring test prep course available

Format: Hybrid (virtual or in-person)

AP Biology

Covers evolution, energetics, information storage, and system interactions. Includes test-taking strategies.
