MEK’s expert essay coaches show students how to master the application essay through a series of one-on-one virtual or in-person sessions. Students learn the art of writing a compelling, personal narrative that is guaranteed to impress college admission officers.
We offer two main programs:
- Application Essay Writing Program
- Introspective Writing Program
The Application Essay Writing Program leads 12th or incoming 12th graders to write polished essays that are part of the Common Application or part of their prospective colleges’ supplemental essay requirements.
The Introspective Writing Program is for 11th graders to find their narrative voice and master the personal storytelling skill that is essential to writing amazing college application essays in the near future.
Our essay coaching caters to each student’s individual writing needs. Highly-personalized meetings with expert MEK counselors help students through the entire application essay process, from idea to final submission.
Students meet at least 8 times with their essay coach on-campus or online. They spend 30 minutes planning and reviewing concepts together, and 60 minutes writing their essay with guided assistance.
Note: To ensure an efficient writing process, we request that all students make their college lists prior to the first one-on-one meetings.
