KEY DUTIES

• Lead English classes, centered on critical reading and writing

• Grade essays using the NJ State Holistic Scoring Rubric and MEK’s signature rubric
• Use computer and web applications for student record-keeping, grading, and materials preparation

• Identify student needs and provide MEK solutions for test prep and school success
• Answer and make phone calls in a friendly, professional manner
• Assist with events coordination, such as seminars and practice test events
• Arrange and host meetings with students and parents to discuss progress and needs
• Coordinate with teaching department leaders and other administrators
• Follow up on students’ needs throughout their MEK experience
• Work on-site at either Palisades Park or Closter campus

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• A four-year degree in an Education-related field
• 1+ year of teaching or counseling experience
• Strong organization, prioritization, written, and verbal communication skills
• Be comfortable with navigating our student management system for administrative and assessment needs

Administrative Assistant

• Greet and assist parents and students at the front desk
• Answer and make phone calls in a friendly, professional manner
• Assist with events coordination, such as seminars and practice test events
• Perform key administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling, and confirming appointments
• Coordinate with teaching department leaders and other administrators
• Work on-site at either Palisades Park or Closter campus

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Applicants can be in their final year of university
• Customer service skills and experience preferred, but not required
• Be comfortable with navigating our student management system for administrative tasks
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Have strong organizational and prioritization skills

Teaching Assistant

We are seeking hard-working, driven Teaching Assistants with a strong work ethic and a knack for details. Excellent opportunity to work alongside a supportive, fun team of teachers and staff. High school seniors and college students are accepted.  Paid training is provided.

KEY DUTIES

• Grade student work with diligence and attention to detail
• Keep track of student arrivals, dismissals and work
• Employ our system to manage student schedules, update grades, and prepare materials
• Proctor practice test events and process score results
• Assist in material development and assignment preparation
• Work on-site at either Palisades Park or Closter campus

During the school year, working hours are 3:00 PM – 8:30 PM Tuesday to Friday and 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM on Saturdays. During the summer, hours are 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM Monday to Friday. We are flexible! Talk to us — schedules can be adjusted based on our mutual needs.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

We are seeking talented, motivated graphic designers excited to craft content for a variety of channels, with a strong focus on marketing emails and social media! Content will feature subjects that interest students and parents from grades 4-12, including exam preparation and school success tips.

Open to college students seeking internship credit, as well as valuable editorial experience.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Internship Eligibility: Must be working towards a four-year college degree in Design, Marketing, or a related field with 0 – 2 years of experience
• Full-Time Eligibility: Must have a four-year degree in Design, Marketing, or related field with 1 – 5 years of experience in a related field

A portfolio may be requested upon further review of an application. Evenings and weekends may be required. Salaries are commensurate with experience.
