COLLEGE TEST PREP OVERVIEW

The MEK College Test Prep program has been redesigned and improved with every COVID-related update that has come our way. The courses are aimed toward mastering topics covered in each section of each college admissions standardized test: the SAT, ACT, SAT Subject, and AP tests.

The College Test Prep program consists of a two-pronged approach: lecture and testing. In the age of COVID-19, we have redeveloped our approach: virtual lecture and on-site testing. Students attend weekly virtual group or one-on-one classes, which are constantly being revised and improved to ensure student engagement. Then, they take simulation practice exams virtually, and now on-site, at our newly renovated Closter campus. Tests are followed by a comprehensive score report and review with our expert instructors.

All courses are available virtually, using Zoom, Google Classroom, and Kami online platforms.

SAT Overview

In 2020, students have had to put up with countless test cancellations, making their test prep journeys unclear and unstable. At MEK, we work with every challenge that comes our way to make sure that students are ready for their SAT, whenever they are able to take it.

What we know for sure is that strong reasoning skills are not just a requirement for the SAT Reasoning Test, but for a strong college education. We keep this foundational goal in mind by transforming the concepts learned in the school classroom into reasoning skills necessary for successful testing. Our SAT Prep program consists of the following:

  • Proven and effective classroom size
  • Most efficient teaching and test taking strategies
  • Study habit building training
  • Effective tools designed to maximize skill through seamless lectures and testing conditions

To use these course features most effectively, the MEK Exam Prep Team evaluates each student’s skill level and weakness types through an evaluation exam for entry into the program. Students are then placed into one of the following courses: SAT Foundation, SAT 1400, SAT 1500, and SAT Private Tutoring.

We also offer SAT Maintenance for students who have completed their test training, but need to maintain their test taking skills for a longer period of time due to frequent test cancellations.
