ACT Connect: Your Path to Top Scores

In June of 2023, MEK Review launched our innovative ACT Prep program, ACT Connect, as an alternative to traditional exam prep.

Throughout the last year of the program opening, we have seen countless students use ACT Connect to reach their goal score and gain admissions to top colleges. And it is through our research of these student experiences that we continue to develop ACT Connect as our flexible, quality driven ACT Prep solution.

What is ACT Connect?

ACT Connect is an asynchronous ACT Prep course taken from the convenience and comfort of your home computer. Through a series of engaging modules, rigorous exercises, and full-length practice exams, students learn the necessary skills to get to their ACT goal score come exam day.

But do I really need ACT Prep outside of the classroom?

Yes! In fact, test-taking is a skill independent of the subject skills you’ll also need to be successful on the exam. Unfortunately, these are skills traditional classroom teachers don’t often have time to teach due to time constraints, district mandates, and curriculum objectives.

Who do you recommend take the ACT and ACT Connect?

MEK recommends the ACT and ACT Connect for students in 9th and 10th grade who have yet to choose between taking the Digital SAT or ACT.

The ACT is also a great option for science minded students who have taken at least two years of science, and students who have an understanding of Algebra 2 concepts.

ACT Reading: Rachel Erwin

Dean of Faculty and Director of Exam Prep English

Rachel is a graduate of the University of Texam A&M and an influential leader at MEK in her role as Dean of Faculty. She teaches College Test Prep, H.S. Test Prep, and College Application Essays. Within the English Department, she serves as director for the Exam Prep team, working diligently to ensure all students’ success. With her clear and systematic approach to teaching, she helps students make huge improvements.

ACT English: Chris Cullen

English Teacher & College Essay Coach

Chris is a graduate of Saint Peter’s University and has worked as a professional writer for 12 years. He applies invaluable real-life skills learned in the media and publishing industries to his work as a teacher. His easygoing demeanor, thoughtful nature, and strong passion for writing work in concert to help students gain a newfound appreciation for the written word.

ACT Math: Tony Kim

Director of Exam Prep Math

Tony is a graduate of Rutgers University and a leader on the Exam Prep team. He teaches math for College Test Prep and H.S. Test Prep and supervises and guides the Exam Prep staff to ensure student success. With a passion for teaching, Tony fosters strong relationships with his students and motivates them to achieve their goals.

ACT Science: Nick Lang

Assistant Director of Subject Prep

Nick is a graduate of Stockton University and an enthusiastic teacher devoted to helping students reach their academic goals and enjoying learning along the way. He teaches School Support math and science tutoring, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, AP Physics, and MAPC – Competition Math.
