Introducing MEK’s ACT Connect
This June 2023, MEK is excited to announce the launch of our new ACT Connect Program!
ACT Connect is an asynchronous course taken from the convenience and comfort of your home computer. Through a series of engaging modules, rigorous exercises, and full-length practice exams, students learn the necessary skills to get to their ACT goal score come exam day.
The Benefits/Advantages of ACT Connect
Our ACT Connect program is perfect for busy students who are serious about studying for the ACT. Whether you are volunteering, participating in an internship, or traveling this summer, ACT Connect fits into YOUR schedule, no matter where you are.
Through the program you’ll receive:
- An Asynchronous Lecture Video Series, so you can learn at your own pace
- Engaging, Expert Lectures filmed by our most experienced instructors with a combined 36 years of teaching experience
- Proven Quality Materials, such as simulation tests and exercises, that have been carefully formulated throughout MEK’s 26 year history
- Full-Length ACT Tests, so students can apply their skills
- Rigorous Learning Modules that focus on Strategy & Content and Test Review
How ACT Connect Works
We have a variety of different ACT Connect packages that fit the needs of every student.
Full Package Plan Details
- Length: 60 Sessions (15 Sessions per Subject)
- Full-length Simulation ACT Tests
- All assignments, assessments, and tests must be completed before the corresponding lecture video is viewed
- Students complete all lectures in a given module in order to access the subsequent simulation tests
- In order to take the subsequent tests, students must complete all lectures for a given test before being able to take the next test
Subject Specific Package Details
- Length: 15 Sessions
- Tests are provided by subject
- All assignments, assessments, and tests must be completed before the corresponding lecture video is viewed
- Students complete all lectures in a given module in order to access the subsequent simulation tests
- Students only have access to one section of the simulation tests
5 Tests and Review by Subject Package Details
- Length: 5 Sessions
- Tests are provided by subject
- All assignments, assessments, and tests must be completed before the corresponding lecture video is viewed
- Students only have access to one module
- Students only have access to one section of the simulation tests
5 Tests and Review plus Full Test Package Details
- Length: 20 Sessions (5 Sessions per Subject)
- Full-length Simulation ACT Tests
- All assignments, assessments, and tests must be completed before the corresponding lecture video is viewed
- Students only have access to one module
- In order to take the subsequent tests, students must complete all lectures for a given test before being able to take the next test
One Full Test Review Package Details
- Length: 4 Sessions (1 Session per Subject)
- Full-length Simulation ACT Tests
- All assignments, assessments, and tests must be completed before the corresponding lecture video is viewed
- Students only have access to one lecture per session
Meet Our ACT Connect Team
ACT Reading: Rachel Erwin
Dean of Faculty and Director of Exam Prep English
Rachel is a graduate of the University of Texam A&M and an influential leader at MEK in her role as Dean of Faculty. She teaches College Test Prep, H.S. Test Prep, and College Application Essays. Within the English Department, she serves as director for the Exam Prep team, working diligently to ensure all students’ success. With her clear and systematic approach to teaching, she helps students make huge improvements.
ACT English: Chris Cullen
English Teacher & College Essay Coach
Chris is a graduate of Saint Peter’s University and has worked as a professional writer for 12 years. He applies invaluable real-life skills learned in the media and publishing industries to his work as a teacher. His easygoing demeanor, thoughtful nature, and strong passion for writing work in concert to help students gain a newfound appreciation for the written word.
ACT Math: Tony Kim
Director of Exam Prep Math
Tony is a graduate of Rutgers University and a leader on the Exam Prep team. He teaches math for College Test Prep and H.S. Test Prep and supervises and guides the Exam Prep staff to ensure student success. With a passion for teaching, Tony fosters strong relationships with his students and motivates them to achieve their goals.
ACT Science: Nick Lang
Assistant Director of Subject Prep
Nick is a graduate of Stockton University and an enthusiastic teacher devoted to helping students reach their academic goals and enjoying learning along the way. He teaches School Support math and science tutoring, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, AP Physics, and MAPC – Competition Math.
