Student of the Week: Lia Lee
August 18, 2023
Each of the 7 weeks of summer, MEK Review teachers nominate a student to be awarded Student of the Week. This student is chosen due to his or her amazing performance, inspiring improvement, or great attitude in our Summer courses.
For Weeks 7 & 8, our teachers nominated Lia Lee from our MEK Learning Circles program!
“Lia’s essays show her consistent effort to grow as a writer and critical thinker, and her grasp of the subtleties in the texts shows how far she’s come. She always has a positive attitude and is prepared to contribute to the class discussions. Superstar!”
– Kathy Kwon, MLC English Teacher
Out of over 500 students, Lia was chosen by her teachers to be Student of the Week because of her consistent effort, positive attitude, and active participation.
Let’s learn a little bit more about our Student of the Week:
I enjoy the atmosphere the MEK teachers and students create. The teachers work extremely hard not only to teach us students, but to make the experience of learning enjoyable.
I have learned a great deal of algebra. In this class I have been continuously learning about quadratic functions. In my other MEK class, I am learning how to put together an analytical essay. Both of these classes have taught me so much and help me become a better student.
My favorite subject in school is language arts. I enjoy reading and writing and this class makes me able to experience both.
Outside of MEK, I enjoy doing many activities, both indoors and out. I enjoy playing tennis, golf, and going hiking with my family. I also enjoy playing the piano and cooking.
We’re so proud of our hardworking Student of the Week. We can’t wait to see what you’ll accomplish next!
