Course Description: SAT 1400 is a group course for students with a target score of 1400+ on the SAT.

The course emphasizes full-length simulation tests and the application of specific MEK-taught skills to reach a 1400 or higher. Each session, students take a full-length practice test to build up mental endurance and master test-taking skills. Tests are followed by review with expert instructors, where students learn test content and content related skills, along with proven strategies to get them to their goal score.

Placement Requirements: Students must currently be scoring a 1200 to enter the course or have successfully graduated from SAT Foundation.

Registration Steps: Students need to submit an inquiry. Once their inquiry is received, they will sign up to take a placement exam. Students will then be placed into a specific course level based on their score and given scheduling options to register.

SAT Core Reading and Writing is perfect for ambitious, high-achieving freshman and sophomore students seeking early practice on the SAT Reading, Writing and Essay sections. Our students get a headstart on SAT preparation, while learning key skills for excelling in Honors English courses.

This course can be taken up to 3 times without the concern for repeated curriculum.

This Spring 2022, this course will be offered through group live virtual classes with additional self-guided assessments and office hours for supplementary support.

Course Description: Academic Enrichment Tutoring is a one-on-one  program for students with highly specific classroom goals. Our expert counselors and teachers design a curriculum for the student that is customized to help them reach specific educational milestones while preparing them for future academic success. All tutoring agendas are aligned with the MEK Learning Circles (MLC) and High School Honors curricula and are designed to help the student meet their individual goal.

Course Description: Private Test Prep is a one-on-one tutoring program for students seeking to learn proven test taking strategies for college, high school, or middle school admissions tests such as the SAT, ACT, AP exams, SSAT, ISEE, or HSPT. This program is designed for students who are unable to attend group classes due to scheduling conflicts, course difficulty, or student learning preferences. Our expert academic counselors and dedicated teachers create a test prep plan customized to each student’s individualized needs that includes full-length practice tests, access to thousands of sample problems, homework and quizzes – all while learning test-taking techniques guaranteed to boost their score.

Class Description: MLC Writing is designed to teach students to become confident and skilled writers. In groups of 4 to 8, students use writing prompts to brainstorm ideas, write essays, and revise their work together. Through MLC Writing, students develop motivation, confidence, and valuable essay-writing skills, giving them a key edge for future high school and college admissions.

Class Description: MLC Critical Reading is designed to teach students critical reading and writing skills. In groups of 4 to 8, students discuss and analyze content-rich articles and brainstorm literary essays. Students practice critical thinking and independent writing alongside their peers, with the guidance of expert teachers who provide immediate feedback on student work. Through MLC Critical Reading, students build confidence in their reading and writing skills that they can use both in school and for future admissions exams.

Placement Requirements: Specific schedule/placement is determined by grade level and class. Students must earn a minimum score on the evaluation test to qualify for Critical Reading class.

Registration Steps: Students must submit an inquiry. Once the inquiry is received, students can sign up to take an evaluation test. Students will then be given MLC course recommendations based on their academic strengths and weaknesses and given scheduling options to register.

Class Description: MLC Math PSM is designed to teach students to interpret and solve word problems while building the necessary skills for test prep. In groups of 4-8, students master problem solving techniques based on the math concepts taught during each session. Students engage in short lectures, timed assessments, and immediate interactive reviews of completed work with the guidance of expert teachers.

Placement Requirements: Specific schedule/placement is determined by grade level and class. Students are recommended to take ONS Circles before they take PSM Circles, as the ONS Circles will build a strong number sense foundation for students to build problem solving understanding upon.
