What’s New in Summer 2025: MEK Learning Circles (MLC)
Summer is a great time for your child to get ahead and sharpen their academic skills. Many students fall behind in the summer and end up struggling when the school year begins. But at MEK, we won’t let that happen! When you plan for a summer at MEK, you can increase your potential and get ahead of the new school year. And if you register by May 2nd, you can get 10% off all summer classes! This summer, take advantage of our MEK Learning Circles (MLC) so that your child doesn’t fall behind.
MEK Learning Circles (MLC)
In the MEK Learning Circles, students work in small groups to achieve big goals! They’ll practice Common Core State Standards (CCSS)-aligned grade-level topics, study skills, and habits. They’ll also expand their understanding of class topics and tactics for school success. Our goals for MLC are for your child to achieve classroom success and confidence.
The MEK Learning Circles, for grades 4 through 8, are designed as a tiered program. Each grade level has at least two levels per subject: Math and English. For Math, students performing at grade level are placed in the Operations & Number Sense course, while students performing above grade-level are placed in the Problem Solving Math course. In the English circles, students performing at grade-level are placed in the Writing course, while students performing above grade-level are placed in Critical Reading. For 6th and 7th graders, we also have Advanced Math Applications, Advanced Verbal Reasoning, Non-Fiction Reading, and Competition Math (MAPC).
